The average human hair grows approximately 0.5–1.5cm per month. ZILWA cannot accelerate growth beyond your biological maximum, but it can help you achieve your optimal growth potential by maintaining a healthy scalp environment, reducing breakage (which gives the impression of faster growth) and stimulating dormant follicles that may not have been contributing to growth.

Losing 50–100 hairs per day is considered within the normal range as part of the natural hair growth cycle. Consistently losing significantly more than this, or noticing visible thinning and bald patches, may indicate telogen effluvium, androgenic alopecia or other treatable conditions. ZILWA Oil is an excellent first step in addressing excessive hair fall, alongside a healthy diet and stress management.

Pour 8–12 drops into your palm, warm between hands, then apply directly to the scalp in sections. Massage in circular motions for 3–5 minutes to stimulate circulation. Leave on for a minimum of 2 hours — or overnight for best results — then wash out with your usual shampoo. Use 2–3 times per week consistently.

While you can use a very small amount as a daily serum on the ends of your hair without washing out, we do not recommend leaving the full treatment dose on the scalp indefinitely. The botanicals are most effectively absorbed in the first 2–8 hours, after which washing out is recommended to prevent product build-up on the scalp. For daytime use, apply just 2–3 drops to the lengths for added shine and conditioning.
